LUKR side-pour taps – Nostalgie and Baroko from Pilsen
LUKR makes side-pour beer taps in Pilsen in the Czech Republic, the birthplace of pilsner. The taps are built around a ball valve instead of a piston and give dense, wet foam over golden beer, as served in Czech pubs. LUKR is the official tap used for pouring Pilsner Urquell. Here you will find the LUKR Nostalgie and Baroko, long shanks, adapters for American towers and spare parts.
How a side-pour tap works
A standard vertical tap opens and closes with a piston valve. A side-pour tap has a ball valve, and you control the foam by how far you open it: fully open gives more beer, partly open gives more wet foam. A small screen inside the tap aerates the beer. The tap is longer than a standard tap, and the nozzle is lowered into the beer as the glass fills. This lets you pour quickly with wet foam on top, and the hop aroma comes through clearly.
