Description
Mini Spunding Valve TC34mm from Brewtools – pressure fermentation 0–2 bar
The Brewtools Mini Spunding Valve is a spunding valve with a 34 mm Tri-Clamp connection. It holds a set pressure in the fermenter and releases excess CO2. The operating pressure is 0–2 bar. The valve fits tanks and lids with a 34 mm Tri-Clamp port, and pairs well with a pressure gauge so you can see the pressure in the tank.
A spunding valve is used for pressure fermentation and to carbonate the beer naturally towards the end of fermentation. The pressure suppresses ester formation, and the CO2 from fermentation stays in the beer instead of being lost.

Frequently asked questions about the Mini Spunding Valve
What pressure should I ferment at?
A common pressure for pressure fermentation is 0.7–1 bar. Many brewers let the first couple of days run without pressure and set the pressure afterwards.
Do I also need a pressure gauge?
The valve pairs well with a pressure gauge, so you can see the actual pressure in the tank while you adjust it.
What do I need to fit the valve?
The tank or lid needs a 34 mm Tri-Clamp port. The valve is fitted with a 34 mm Tri-Clamp clamp and gasket.
