SafAle T-58 500 g – spicy and fruity dry yeast for breweries
SafAle T-58 from Fermentis is a dry yeast with an ester-rich, spicy profile, widely used for Belgian beer styles. It has a strong fermentation character with intense fruity and phenolic flavours, especially banana, clove and pepper, and also suits many wheat-based beers. This 500 g pack is intended for breweries and larger batches.

T-58 has medium sedimentation. It does not form clumps, but gives a powdery haze when resuspended in the beer.

How much wort does 500 g cover?
At the Fermentis recommendation of 50–80 g per hectolitre, 500 g covers approx. 6–10 hl of wort.
Which beer styles is T-58 suited to?
Belgian styles, wheat-based beers and other fruity, spicy styles where you want banana, clove and pepper from the yeast.
Does the yeast need rehydrating?
No. It can be sprinkled directly onto the wort at or above fermentation temperature, or rehydrated in at least 10 times its weight of sterile water or boiled, hopped wort at 25–29 °C for 15–30 minutes.
How should an opened pack be stored?
Fermentis recommends resealing the pack, keeping it at 4 °C and using it within seven days. Unopened, store the yeast dry and preferably below 15 °C for storage beyond six months.
