Transfer hose kit – closed transfer between tank and keg

With this hose kit you can transfer beer under pressure between two kegs, or from an Apollo or other pressure tank or unitank with ball lock connections into a keg. The beer stays in a closed system without contact with air, which reduces the risk of oxidation.

What is the hose kit used for?

For closed transfers under pressure: keg to keg, or from a pressure tank or unitank with ball lock connections into a keg.

Why is a closed transfer better?

Oxygen usually gets in through splashing when beer is transferred after fermentation. Oxidised beer loses hop aroma and can taste of cardboard. In a closed transfer the beer never comes into contact with air.

How do I prepare the keg?

Purge the keg with CO2 first: fill it with CO2 and release the pressure through the relief valve 2–3 times before transferring the beer.
