SmartRef from Anton Paar – digital refractometer with wort and alcohol correction

SmartRef is a digital pocket refractometer from Anton Paar. In addition to automatic temperature compensation (ATC), it has automatic correction for wort and alcohol. Connected to the free Brew Meister app for iOS and Android, SmartRef measures the extract content of your wort in seconds and lets you follow fermentation with digital accuracy. The app does all the calculations for you, and the results are already compensated for temperature, wort and alcohol. Brew Meister can also be used with EasyDens.

Frequently asked questions about the SmartRef digital refractometer

Can I measure with SmartRef during fermentation?

Yes, together with the Brew Meister app. A standard refractometer gives wrong readings once the beer contains alcohol, but Brew Meister corrects for wort and alcohol so you can follow fermentation.

How much sample do I need?

Only 0.4 ml. You get the result in about 2 seconds.

What is the difference between SmartRef and EasyDens?

SmartRef is a refractometer that measures a small drop of sample. EasyDens is a digital hydrometer from Anton Paar. Both can be used with the Brew Meister app.

Is SmartRef waterproof?

Yes. SmartRef is waterproof to IP66, and the stainless steel and glass measuring surface is easy to clean.
