Superdelic is a new and exciting aroma hop from New Zealand, developed by NZ Hops as part of their advanced breeding program. The hop is known for its unique oil composition, which provides distinctive and complex aromas – including red berries, tropical fruit, sweet citrus, and candy. It is simply a hop that stands out, giving your beer a lively and modern signature.
Superdelic is particularly exciting in hazy and fruity beer styles such as NEIPA and pale ale, and exhibits strong biotransformation properties – meaning when the hops are added during active fermentation and the interaction with the yeast creates extra fruitiness and depth in the aroma. In brewery testing, it has delivered clear notes of ripe mango, sweet berries, and citrus, and works both as a single hop and in combination with hops such as Citra, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and Riwaka.
