Frequently asked questions about The Brew Bag
Do I need to sparge when brewing with The Brew Bag?
No. When brewing with the BIAB method, sparging is not necessary.
How fine should the grain be crushed?
For BIAB, the grain can be crushed finer than for most brewing systems. A finer crush increases the contact surface, speeds up enzyme activity and gives a higher yield.
Can I heat the kettle with the bag in it?
Not while the bag of grain rests on the bottom of the kettle. Direct heat can then scorch or melt the bag.
How do I clean the bag?
Hand wash with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse with clean water and hang it to drip dry.
