WLP029 German Ale Kölsch Yeast – PurePitch Next Generation

This yeast strain comes from a small brewpub in Cologne, Germany, and suits German styles such as Kölsch, Altbier and California Common. It also works well in pale beers such as blonde ale and honey ale. The yeast is known for accentuating hop flavour and bitterness while giving a crisp, clean, lager-like character. It performs well at 18–20 °C, but does not ferment well below 17 °C.
