Description
Apollo 60L Unitank – conical PET pressure fermenter from Keg King
The Apollo 60L Unitank is a conical PET pressure fermenter from Keg King in Australia, based on the third generation of the original Fermentasaurus. In one tank you can ferment, harvest yeast, clarify and carbonate the beer, and then transfer it to kegs, bottles or cans without unnecessary exposure to oxygen. You can also serve fermented, carbonated beer straight from the tank.
Keg King makes the tanks in Springvale, Australia, using PET technology and blow moulding. Every Apollo PET tank is pressure tested at 5 bar before leaving the factory, and Keg King states that they withstand up to 8 bar. The maximum working pressure is 2.4 bar.
Fermenting with and without pressure
The tank comes complete with equipment for fermenting and transferring under pressure (max 2.4 bar), except for a spunding valve (adjustable pressure relief valve). To ferment without pressure, connect a ball lock quick disconnect to one of the ball lock posts and use it as a blow-off.
Features
- dump valve (Plunger Valve) in 304 stainless steel for dumping yeast and hops. It is more sanitary and easier to use than a plastic butterfly valve, and does not seize.
- integrated thermowell that measures in the middle of the beer
- centred floating dip tube
- integrated dry hop port in the lid
- compatible with 2" Tri-Clamp at the bottom
- a cooling coil for temperature control is available as an accessory
What is included
- 60 L conical PET fermenter
- Plunger Valve with thermowell in 304 stainless steel
- stand in 304 stainless steel, with wheels
- pressure-rated polypropylene lid with ball lock posts in 304 stainless steel and a 2.4 bar pressure relief valve
