Black Russian Roulette Imperial Stout all-grain beer kit
Black Russian Roulette is a pitch-black, powerful imperial stout with notes of liquorice and a long, warming finish. The all-grain kit from Brewolution contains malt, hops, yeast and muscovado sugar for a 23–25 litre brew. It is made for brewers with a brewing system or their own setup who mash and boil from scratch.

Unmilled malt
For quality and shelf life, the malt is supplied unmilled. Once malt is milled, it starts to oxidise and lose flavour and aroma. If you do not already have a grain mill, we recommend getting one so you can mill the malt just before brewing.

How strong will the beer be?
With an OG of 1.104 and FG of 1.027, the beer ends up at around 10.2% ABV. It is a big beer that benefits from some time before drinking.
Will 8.9 kg of malt fit in my brewing system?
Check the maximum grain bill for your system, and keep in mind that the stated maximum should not be used to the full. Too much malt gives poor recirculation and poor sparging. If the malt pipe gets too full, you can double mash.
How long should it ferment?
The kit is designed for 14 days at 18–22 °C. At such a high OG, good oxygenation of the wort before pitching is especially important.
Is the malt milled?
No. The malt is supplied unmilled for quality and shelf life, so you will need a grain mill.
