Carafa Special Type 2 - Weyermann
Carafa Special is chocolate malt that has been dehusked before malting and roasting. This reduces astringency and bitterness, while giving the beer a coffee-brown color, coffee-like bouquet, dark aroma, and increased body and mouthfeel. Notes of toffee, cocoa, and dark chocolate. Typically used in 1-5% of the total grist.
