Compact Medium airlock – low two-piece airlock for up to 60 litres
The Compact Medium is a two-piece airlock from Enolandia for fermenters of up to 60 litres. It is a good alternative to a standard airlock when the height of the fermenter matters, for example in a fermentation chamber or fridge where one centimetre too much can make it too tight. The airlock is only approx. 4.1 cm high.
Instead of a loose, floating centre piece, as in a standard three-piece airlock, the centre piece is moulded into the lid. You therefore only have two parts to take apart when cleaning it.

Can the airlock be used for blow-off?
Yes. A hose with a 1/2" (12 mm) inner diameter fits the centre tube. This is useful if fermentation is very vigorous at the start and foam could otherwise be pushed through the airlock.
What is the difference between the Compact Mini and the Compact Medium?
Both are low two-piece airlocks. The Compact Mini is for fermenters of up to 30 litres, while the Compact Medium is for fermenters of up to 60 litres.
What do I fill the airlock with?
Clean water or diluted sanitizer, such as Star San. Gas can then escape without air and bacteria getting in.
How do I clean the airlock?
Remove the lid and you only have two parts. Clean and sanitize them before fitting the airlock to a new batch.
