Craft Series American IPA extract kit – with dry hops
American IPA from Mangrove Jack's Craft Series is an extract kit for a crisp, dry IPA with tropical fruit aroma. The beer balances fruit and malt notes with an intense bitterness. The kit contains liquid malt extract, dry yeast and dry hops of Simcoe, Citra and Nelson Sauvin.
What else you need
To brew American IPA you also need 1.2 kg liquid malt extract, also called Pure Malt Enhancer, to reach the intended alcohol content. Malt extract gives the beer better flavour, body and mouthfeel than sugar or dextrose. Alternatively, you can use 1.4 kg Beer Enhancer, a blend of malt extract and sugar. Priming sugar for carbonation is not included.

Frequently asked questions about Craft Series American IPA
Is the extract kit enough on its own?
No. You also need 1.2 kg liquid malt extract or 1.4 kg Beer Enhancer to reach the right alcohol content. Priming sugar for carbonation is not included either.
Can I use regular sugar instead of malt extract?
Malt extract gives better flavour, body and mouthfeel than sugar or dextrose. Beer Enhancer is an in-between option with both malt extract and sugar.
How long until the beer is ready?
Allow at least two weeks of fermentation. Check with a hydrometer that fermentation has finished before bottling. Bottle conditioning then takes at least two weeks.
What is the difference between an extract kit and a Fresh Wort Kit?
An extract kit is hopped malt extract that is mixed with water. A Fresh Wort Kit is 20 litres of ready-brewed wort that simply goes into the fermenter together with the yeast. It is just as easy, and the beer is much better. If you are considering an extract kit, try a Fresh Wort Kit.
