Description
High-quality Charcoal - 5kg
This is not just any charcoal. Our charcoal briquettes are made from the Argentinian wood species Quebracho Blanco, known for its extreme hardness and high density.
The name quebracho stems from the Spanish words quebrar hacha – "axe breaker". You'll quickly understand why.
The large, compact charcoal pieces burn 2–3 times longer than regular charcoal, with high heat and very little ash. The result is stable temperature, clean combustion, and the authentic flavor characteristic of real wood-fired grilling.
Important information about charcoal
Our charcoal is of the highest quality available, produced through traditional outdoor pyrolysis over 10–12 days – not in rapid kilns in defunct factories. This results in charcoal with high carbon content and long burning time.
As with all natural products, variations may occur:
-
Packaging damage: can occur during transport but does not affect the quality of the charcoal.
-
Stones in the charcoal: occur because production takes place outdoors on bare ground – harmless and normal.
-
Spark during ignition: hard wood can produce small sparks upon ignition, especially from knotty areas. This only happens during ignition and disappears once the charcoal is glowing.
Tips for lighting
-
Always light the charcoal with firelighters, not lighter fluid.
-
Allow the charcoal to fully ignite before disturbing it.
-
Close the lower air intake during grilling – charcoal needs very little oxygen to glow.
-
Avoid chimney starters or strong drafts if you want to reduce sparking.
Charcoal is a natural product – small variations are a sign of genuine craftsmanship, not defects.
Choose Quebracho Blanco charcoal for maximum heat, longer burn time, and authentic Argentinian quality.
