LUKR Nostalgie Side-Pour Faucet - Stainless Steel
US Standard Shank: Through-hole with US threads. Also fits tap towers with US threads.
Nostalgie and Baroko faucets from LUKR in Pilsen, Czech Republic, are known worldwide for their unique design and special pouring capabilities. These faucets are instruments for beer artists and can positively influence the taste of draught beer.
The side-pour faucet is a Central European creation, and you will see it in every Czech pub that truly cares about beer. This is, after all, the birthplace of pilsner, and the side-pour faucet is ideal for pouring pils because it ensures that there is always plenty of dense, wet foam.
The faucet brings out the spicy, hop aromas from Saaz in Pilsner Urquell, and its special design allows you to pour the beer quickly, with wet foam on top and golden pilsner underneath.
The faucet is longer than regular faucets and should be submerged in the beer as the glass fills. Unlike vertical faucets, which have a plunger valve, side-pour faucets are built around a ball valve. You open the faucet for more beer and partially close it for more wet foam. Inside the faucet, there is a small filter, which aerates the beer and makes the foam thicker.
A perfectly poured Pilsner Urquell should have a thick head of dense, wet foam to protect the beer and seal in freshness and flavor.
Tip: Partially open the faucet (10-20 degrees) to get a rich foam, before fully opening the faucet to pour beer under the foam.
