EU Standard Shank: 5/8" x 60mm penetration with European threads. Also fits draft towers with European threads.
Nostalgie and Baroko taps from LUKR in Pilsen, Czech Republic, are known worldwide for their unique design and special pouring abilities. These taps are instruments for beer artists and can positively influence the taste of draught beer.
The side-pour tap is a Central European creation, and you will see it in every Czech pub that truly cares about beer. This is, after all, the birthplace of pilsner, and the side-pour tap is ideal for pouring pils because it ensures there's always plenty of dense, wet foam.
The tap brings out the spicy, hoppy aromas of Saaz in Pilsner Urquell, and its special design allows you to pour the beer quickly, with wet foam on top and golden pilsner underneath.
The tap is longer than regular taps and should be lowered into the beer as the glass fills. Unlike vertical taps, which have a piston valve, side-pour taps are built around a ball valve. You open the tap for more beer and close it partially for more wet foam. Inside the tap, there is a small filter that aerates the beer and thickens the foam.
A perfectly poured Pilsner Urquell should have a thick head of dense, wet foam to protect the beer and seal in freshness and flavor.
Tip: Open the tap partially (10-20 degrees) to get a rich foam, before opening the tap fully to pour beer underneath the foam.
