Description
LUKR Nostalgie side-pour faucet – stainless steel with TiN coating, EU Shank
EU Standard Shank: 5/8" x 60 mm shank with European threads. The faucet also fits beer towers with European threads.
Nostalgie is a side-pour faucet from LUKR in Pilsen, Czech Republic, made of stainless steel with TiN coating. It is designed for pouring pilsner with dense, wet foam, the way a Czech pilsner should be served. TiN is titanium nitride, a coating that gives the surface a gold-coloured finish.
How the side-pour faucet works
The side-pour faucet is a Central European design found in Czech pubs that take their beer seriously. It suits pilsner because it gives plenty of dense, wet foam, and it brings out the spicy hop aromas from Saaz in a pilsner such as Pilsner Urquell.
Unlike vertical faucets, which have a plunger valve, side-pour faucets are built around a ball valve. You open the faucet for more beer and partly close it for more wet foam. Inside the faucet is a small screen that aerates the beer and makes the foam thicker. The faucet is longer than ordinary faucets, and the spout is lowered into the beer as the glass fills.

Frequently asked questions about the LUKR Nostalgie faucet
How do I pour a pilsner with a side-pour faucet?
Open the faucet partly (10–20 degrees) to get a rich foam, then open it fully to pour the beer beneath the foam. A thick layer of foam protects the beer and seals in freshness and flavour.
What is the difference between EU Shank and US Shank?
This version has an EU Standard Shank, a 5/8" x 60 mm shank with European threads. If the faucet has to go through a thicker wall or door, LUKR EU Shanks are available in 100, 160 and 200 mm.
How do I clean the faucet?
LUKR has its own guide to professional cleaning, which you will find below. Clean faucets and beer lines every time you change kegs.
