Metabs is a convenient way to add measured amounts of sulfur dioxide. In tablet form and easy to use. Metabs is a preservative that prevents biological spoilage and microorganisms from growing and multiplying (yeast arrest). Its antioxidant properties increase stability and extend the shelf life of the beer. Sodium metabisulfite is an antioxidant that releases sulfur.

Metabs can also be used for storage and flora control of oak barrels.
