Odd Island Brewing Twelve Fifty – all-grain beer kit for West Coast IPA
Twelve Fifty is a fruity West Coast IPA from the microbrewery Odd Island Brewing in Gothenburg, here as an all-grain beer kit for homebrewers. The kit is made in collaboration with Odd Island Brewing and Twilling Import. The beer is a well-balanced, fruity old-school IPA with malt sweetness, good bitterness and aromas of citrus, passion fruit and resin from Citra, Columbus and Simcoe.
An all-grain beer kit is for brewers who brew with a brewing system or kettle, mashing and boiling from scratch.
From heavy metal to beer
Odd Island Brewing was founded in 2015 by Daniel Svensson, former drummer of the Swedish metal band In Flames. The American craft beer scene was a big inspiration while touring the USA. The band's bassist, Peter Iwers, also joined. He owns the restaurant «2012» in Gothenburg.

For quality and shelf life, the malt is supplied uncrushed. If you do not already have a grain mill, we recommend getting one, so you can crush the malt just before brew day for the freshest possible ingredients.

How much beer does the kit make?
About 21–22 litres of finished beer. The recipe is designed for 28 litres pre-boil and about 24 litres into the fermenter.
Which yeast is included, and how should it be fermented?
The kit includes three packs of S-04 dry yeast. Ferment for 14 days at 18 °C.
Is the malt crushed?
No. The malt is uncrushed for quality and shelf life. Crush it yourself with a grain mill just before brewing.
Do I need anything besides the kit?
You need all-grain brewing equipment, sugar or drops for carbonation, and optionally finings and yeast nutrient. These are not included.
