Description
Oxyturbo Minor O2 – oxygen regulator with pressure gauge for oxygen bottles
The Oxyturbo Minor O2 is an oxygen regulator with a pressure gauge and a 1/4" John Guest push-fit quick connector. It is used to oxygenate the wort before pitching the yeast, together with an oxygen bottle and an oxygenation stone. The regulator has M12x1 threads and fits standard Oxyturbo oxygen bottles. At Brewshop you get disposable bottles with food-grade oxygen. The regulator is made by Oxyturbo in Italy.
How to connect it
- Screw the regulator onto the oxygen bottle (M12x1 threads).
- We recommend a flow meter to control the right amount of oxygen. The flow meter is not included and must be bought separately.
- Connect the regulator to the flow meter with a short length of 1/4" tubing.
- From the flow meter the tubing continues to the oxygenation stone in the wort.

Frequently asked questions about the Oxyturbo Minor O2
Why should I oxygenate the wort?
Yeast needs oxygen to multiply. Without enough oxygen, fermentation can be slow and incomplete and produce off-flavours. It matters most with high OG, lagers and large batches.
How much oxygen do I need?
Brewshop's rule of thumb for 25 litres: 1 litre per minute for approx. 80 seconds for ales up to OG 1.060, and approx. 160 seconds for stronger ales and lagers. A flow meter makes it easy to dose correctly.
When should oxygen be added?
Only before pitching the yeast. Never add oxygen after fermentation has started.
Does the regulator fit other oxygen bottles?
The regulator has M12x1 threads and fits standard Oxyturbo oxygen bottles.
