Oxygen Cylinder 1 liter with food-grade oxygen - Oxyturbo
We are proud to be the first in Norway to launch Oxyturbo disposable oxygen cylinders with food-grade oxygen. This is a long-awaited solution for homebrewers and microbreweries in Norway, who have previously used technical gas intended for welding equipment.
The 1-liter cylinder is ideal for safe and efficient oxygenation of wort and is compatible with Oxyturbo oxygen regulators. For those who already have an Oxyturbo regulator from before – when Jula sold Oxyturbo oxygen cylinders (which were not food-grade, mind you) – this is a perfect upgrade to a solution specifically developed for food use.
The cylinder comes with an integrated base that keeps it stable.
We recommend using the cylinder with our new Oxyurbo Minor O2 oxygen regulator with pressure gauge and 1/4" John Guest pushfit, which is easy to use in combination with our flow meter.
Why is oxygenation of wort important when brewing?
Oxygenation of the wort is a critical part of the brewing process, especially to ensure optimal fermentation. Yeast needs oxygen to multiply and perform a stable and efficient fermentation. Using food-grade oxygen gives homebrewers complete peace of mind and contributes to higher quality beer – with fewer risks of off-flavors and brewing errors. Requirements for food-grade oxygen
As a store that sells food ingredients and equipment for use in beer production, we are obliged to sell food-grade O2.
If the beer is to be "marketed," for example as samples, for sale, or submitted for judging in competitions, the requirements in the Norwegian Food Safety Authority's notification are clear: it must be food-grade.
Important! Regarding shipping of oxygen cylinders
Oxygen cylinders are considered dangerous goods and can only be shipped on a pallet. This will incur a dangerous goods surcharge, so please contact us if you wish to order with delivery. You cannot rely on the shipping prices that automatically appear in the shopping cart, as that price is without the dangerous goods surcharge.
