Stone Cold IPA – all-grain beer kit for a Cold IPA
A Cold IPA takes the best from several styles and ends up as a fresh, extra crisp thirst quencher with a bit of a kick. The style combines the malt base and yeast of a pilsner, the balanced bitterness of a West Coast IPA and flavours that lean more towards a New England IPA. Stone Cold IPA is generously hopped with Citra, El Dorado and Azacca in the hop stand and dry hop, giving a fresh, tropical fruity aroma. Clean, crisp and hop forward.
Cold IPA was first brewed by Wayfinder Beer in Portland, USA, in 2018. The style has since taken off, and several big breweries, including Sierra Nevada, have made their own. Read more about the style in our blog article on Cold IPA (Norwegian).

Unmilled malt
For quality and shelf life, the malt is supplied unmilled. If you do not already have a grain mill, we recommend getting one so the malt is freshly milled on brew day. Freshly milled malt has more flavour and aroma.

What is a Cold IPA?

Which yeast is included?
The kit contains two packs of W-34/70, a lager yeast. Ferment for 8 days at 18 °C, then 4 days at 20 °C.
How strong is the beer?
With an OG of 1.058 and FG of 1.006, the beer comes out at around 7% ABV, with 58 IBU.
Is the malt milled?
No. The malt is supplied unmilled for the best quality and shelf life. You mill it yourself on brew day, or choose milled malt when you order.
