WLN2000 FANMax Bio – organic yeast nutrient from White Labs
FANMax Bio from White Labs is a yeast nutrient with a blend of nutrients optimised for good nitrogen solubility. It contains peptone and yeast extract, which give the yeast essential fatty acids, free amino nitrogen (FAN), nucleic acids, vitamins and minerals. The nutrient is suitable for beer, mead, cider, kombucha and hard seltzer, and for yeast propagation.
FANMax Bio is 100% free of diammonium phosphate (DAP) and contains no inorganic nitrogen sources. Instead of DAP, a common but synthetic nitrogen source, it uses organic nitrogen sources. The yeast gets what it needs to ferment efficiently, and the nutrient helps avoid unwanted flavours and ammonia in the finished mead.

Frequently asked questions about FANMax Bio
What is the difference between FANMax Bio and nutrient with DAP?
DAP is a synthetic, inorganic nitrogen source. FANMax Bio contains no DAP and gives the yeast nitrogen from organic sources such as peptone and yeast extract, together with fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.
Why does mead need yeast nutrient?
Honey contains little nitrogen and few of the other nutrients yeast needs. Without nutrient, fermentation can be slow and produce off-flavours. FANMax Bio gives the yeast what it needs without leaving ammonia in the finished mead.
How much FANMax Bio should I use?

Can I use the nutrient after the best before date?
Yes. This pack is sold as outlet with best before 18.09.2026, but it is just as good after the date.
