Mangrove Jack's Craft Series Ginger Beer – Grizzle's Brew is an extract kit for brewing a flavourful ginger beer at home. It is a malt-based ginger beer with a dark gold colour, fresh ginger aroma and a clear spicy warmth in the finish.
The flavour is bold and zingy, with real ginger character and a good spicy kick. The result is a refreshing, easy-drinking ginger beer with medium body and a crisp finish. The kit makes approx. 23 litres.
The extract kits in the Craft Series contain liquid malt extract and dry yeast, and in some cases dry hops or flavourings. Priming sugar is not included.
You will also need
- 1 kg of dextrose to reach the stated alcohol content. Alternatively, use Brew Enhancer or liquid malt extract, which give more body, fullness and mouthfeel than pure dextrose.
- Priming sugar or carbonation drops for bottle conditioning

What do I need in addition to the extract kit?
You need 1 kg of dextrose, or Brew Enhancer or liquid malt extract, plus priming sugar or carbonation drops if you bottle condition. The yeast is included.
How strong will the ginger beer be?
With 1 kg of dextrose it will be approx. 4.4 % ABV. OG is 1.038 ± 0.005.
What temperature should it ferment at?
Mangrove Jack's recommends 20–24 °C.
What is the difference between dextrose and malt extract?
Dextrose ferments out almost completely and gives an FG below 1.005. Liquid malt extract gives more body and fullness, and an FG below 1.012.
