Lervig Lucky Jack 25L all-grain beer kit
Lucky Jack Original Pale Ale is a modern classic from Lervig Aktiebryggeri in Stavanger. First brewed in 2010, it quickly became a symbol of the Norwegian craft beer wave. It combines an American hop profile with a light, clean malt base, giving a fresh aroma of citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit from Citra, Amarillo, Chinook and Perle hops. The result is a balanced, flavourful pale ale with moderate bitterness and high drinkability, as good on its own as with food.
This all-grain kit lets you brew Lucky Jack at home with ingredients and flavour true to the original. The kit is for brewers who mash and boil from scratch, for example with a brewing system.
About Lervig Aktiebryggeri
Lervig is an independent craft brewery founded in Stavanger in 2003. The brewery is known for quality, innovation and flavour, and makes a wide range of beers, from light pilsners and pale ales to heavy stouts and experimental barrel-aged beers.
Gluten-reduced Lucky Jack
Lervig now brews Lucky Jack as a gluten-free beer, without compromising on flavour or character. At home, you can add 1 pack of WLE4000 Clarity Ferm to the fermenter together with the yeast (sold separately). Clarity Ferm breaks down gluten proteins during fermentation and significantly reduces the gluten content. Because homebrewed beer is not laboratory tested, we call the result gluten-reduced.

We look after the ingredients
For quality and shelf life, the malt is supplied uncrushed. If you do not already have one, we recommend a grain mill, so that your ingredients are completely fresh on brew day. Freshly crushed malt gives the best result.
Frequently asked questions about the Lervig Lucky Jack all-grain kit
What equipment do I need to brew Lucky Jack?
An all-grain kit is for brewers who mash and boil themselves, for example with a brewing system. You also need a fermenter, sanitizer and a grain mill, as the malt is supplied uncrushed.
Can I brew Lucky Jack gluten-free?
You can brew a gluten-reduced version by adding 1 pack of WLE4000 Clarity Ferm together with the yeast. Homebrewed beer is not laboratory tested, so we cannot promise that it will be gluten-free.
How strong will the beer be?
With an OG of 1.047 and an FG of 1.012, the beer ends up at about 4.7% ABV. Bitterness is 28 IBU and colour is 14 EBC.
How long should the beer ferment?
The recommended fermentation is 14 days at 20 °C with US-05 dry yeast, which is included in the kit.
Why is the malt uncrushed?
Crushed malt starts to oxidise and lose flavour and aroma. Uncrushed malt keeps better, and crushing it yourself just before brewing gives the best result.
