Frequently asked questions about the Oxyturbo oxygen regulator with flowmeter
How long should I oxygenate the wort?
Brewshop recommends for 25 litres: ale up to OG 1.060 needs about 8 ppm, which is 1 litre per minute for 80 seconds. Ale above 1.060 and lager need about 14 ppm, which is 1 litre per minute for 160 seconds.
When should the oxygen be added?
Only before the yeast is pitched. Oxygen added after fermentation has started gives oxidised beer.
What else do I need?
An Oxyturbo oxygen cylinder, hose and an oxygenation stone, for example 0.5 micron.
