Speidel fermentation and pressure tanks for breweries

Speidel in Germany makes stainless steel tanks for beer, cider, wine and kombucha. This is Speidel's professional range: FD pressure tanks for 1.2 and 2.5 bar, FS-MO tanks with and without pressure, conical ZKG tanks, FO1 floating-lid tanks and the Fermentegg. The tanks come complete, are made to order and ship directly from Speidel.

Choosing a Speidel tank

FD pressure tanks: The Speidel FD-1.2B and FD-2.5B come in 120, 240, 625 and 1150 litres, rated for 1.2 or 2.5 bar. The 3D inner surface makes cleaning easier, and the cylinder has a double cooling jacket. The FD-ZKG is the same tank with a conical bottom, from 120 to 1200 litres, such as the FD-2.5B-ZKG 625 litre.
FS-MO-3B: Pressure tanks for 3.0 bar with laser-welded double cooling jackets and a 340 × 440 mm manhole. Standard sizes are 1150, 1750 and 2400 litres, and the conical FS-MO-3B ZKG comes in 1200, 1800 and 2400 litres. To order, the FS-MO-3B is available from 280 to 49,000 litres.
FS-MO without pressure: The FS-MO is a round, upright fermentation and storage tank. Shell and bottom are AISI 304 and the top is AISI 316. Standard sizes are 625, 1250, 1800 and 2500 litres.
FO1 floating lid: The Speidel FO1 in 220, 300 and 675 litres has variable capacity. The lid sits on the liquid, and the tank is used for wine, cider and other drinks where oxygen control is critical.
Other tanks: The Fermentegg in 250 and 600 litres comes with ball valves. The non-pressurised conical tanks of 240 and 625 litres have laser-welded double cooling jackets and a lid with spring clip.

What is the difference between Speidel FD and FS-MO?

FD tanks are pressure tanks rated for 1.2 or 2.5 bar in sizes up to 1200 litres. FS-MO tanks are larger upright tanks, either non-pressurised or, as the FS-MO-3B, rated for 3.0 bar.

What is a floating-lid tank?

The lid rests directly on the liquid and follows the level, leaving little air above the wine or cider. The tank can therefore hold varying volumes without the drink oxidising.

Can Speidel tanks be cooled with glycol?

Yes. The FD, FS-MO-3B and conical tanks have double cooling jackets with connections for cooling water or glycol. Glycol chillers for breweries are under Quantor Pro.
