Simply Export Stout extract kit – dark, full-bodied stout

Simply Export Stout is an extract kit with 1.8 kg of malt extract, made for a clean and drinkable beer. The result is a dark, rich stout, silky smooth with a roasted malt character and aromas of dark fruit and dark chocolate.

The kit makes approx. 40 half-litre servings. You also need 1 kg of malt extract or dextrose/sugar to reach the right volume and an alcohol content of approx. 4.8%. We recommend malt extract for the best flavour.

How to brew

• Clean and sanitize the fermenter and equipment.
• Mix the extract with boiled water and top up with cold water to the stated volume.
• Measure the OG and sprinkle the yeast over the wort.
• Let the beer ferment for at least two weeks and check the FG.
• Transfer to bottles with carbonation drops and let the beer carbonate for at least two weeks.

What else do I need to brew the kit?

Malt extract or sugar – which is better?

Both give the right alcohol content. Malt extract adds more flavour and body than plain sugar, which only adds alcohol. For a full-bodied stout, malt extract is the better choice.

What is the difference between an extract kit and a Fresh Wort Kit?

An extract kit is mixed with water. A Fresh Wort Kit is 20 litres of ready-brewed, water-adjusted wort from a professional brewery. It is simpler and quicker, and the beer turns out much better. If you are considering an extract kit, try a Fresh Wort Kit instead.
