Description

Simply IPA extract kit 1.8 kg – easy-drinking IPA

Simply IPA is an elegant, easy-drinking IPA with good malt sweetness, a hint of vanilla and a clean finish. The Simply extract kits contain 1.8 kg of malt extract made for a clean, drinkable end result. The kit makes about 20 litres, or 40 half-litres, and yeast is included.

You also need 1 kg of malt extract or dextrose/sugar to reach the desired volume and an alcohol content of about 4 %. We recommend malt extract for the best flavour. Sugar for carbonation is not included.

If you do not have equipment for brewing extract kits, we recommend Starter Kit Basic.

Technical data

  • Malt extract: 1.8 kg
  • Yield: approx. 40 × 0.5 litres
  • ABV: approx. 4 % with 1 kg malt extract or dextrose

How to brew with an extract kit

  1. Clean and sanitize the fermenter and equipment.

  3. Measure the OG, sprinkle the yeast on top and fit the lid and airlock.
  4. Let the beer ferment for at least two weeks, and check with a hydrometer that fermentation is finished.
  5. Bottle with carbonation drops and leave the bottles for at least two weeks before the beer is ready.

Frequently asked questions about the Simply IPA extract kit

What do I need in addition to the kit?

1 kg malt extract or dextrose/sugar, sugar or carbonation drops for carbonation, and standard brewing equipment such as a fermenter, airlock, hydrometer and sanitizer.

Should I use malt extract or sugar?

Both give about 4 % alcohol, but malt extract gives the best flavour. Sugar and dextrose add alcohol, but no body.

How much beer does it make?

About 40 half-litres, or around 20 litres.

What is the difference between an extract kit and a Fresh Wort Kit?

An extract kit is hopped malt extract that you mix with water. A Fresh Wort Kit is ready-brewed wort from a brewery, which you simply pour into the fermenter together with the yeast. The beer turns out much better with a Fresh Wort Kit, so if you are considering an extract kit, try a Fresh Wort Kit instead.
