BacBrewing – upgrades for Braumeister, Grainfather and your kettle
BacBrewing is an Italian maker of stainless steel accessories for homebrewers. Most of the range at Brewshop is upgrades for the Speidel Braumeister and Grainfather: Yield Increase Discs, filter screens, false bottoms and filter parts. The range also includes the Trub Stopper for your kettle, a drill-driven whirlpool paddle and the Aphrometer, a gauge that measures pressure inside the bottle.
Choosing BacBrewing accessories
Your brewing system: Most parts are made for one specific machine. Check model and size: Braumeister BM10, BM20 or BM50, whether it is a PLUS model, and for Grainfather whether it is a G30.
More grain in the Braumeister: The Yield Increase Disc makes room for more grain in the malt pipe. In BacBrewing's BM50 test it held 16 kg instead of the standard 13 kg, with 76 % pre-boil efficiency.
Fine or large mesh: The Braumeister filter screens come in fine or large mesh.
Trub in the kettle: The Trub Stopper sits on the kettle bottom towards the end of the boil and holds back hops and hot break. Choose the diameter to suit your kettle: Small is 17 cm, Large 40 cm.
The BacBrewing range
For Speidel Braumeister – Yield Increase Discs for BM10 and BM50, fine and large mesh filter screens, a dip tube/siphon, the Springer filter for BM50 PLUS and a drill adapter for the whirlpool paddle.
For Grainfather – a new G30 false bottom that locks into the malt pipe, a fine mesh false bottom, a repair kit for the recirculation pipe, and a gasket set, 800 micron cylinder and M14x1 bulkhead for the External Filter.
Trub Stopper – a 2 mm micro-perforated, passivated 304 stainless plate with a silicone ring rated to 180 °C.
Whirlpool paddle – driven by a drill or screwdriver, for up to 50 litres.
Aphrometer – 0–4 or 0–10 bar gauge that screws onto the crown cap, for 26 or 29 mm caps. Caps sold separately.

What is a Yield Increase Disc?
It is a filter plate for the Speidel Braumeister that makes room for more grain in the malt pipe. In BacBrewing's BM50 test it held 16 kg of grain instead of 13 kg, or 23 % more. Spacer tubes for the disc are sold separately.
What does an Aphrometer do?
An Aphrometer shows the pressure inside a bottle during bottle conditioning, for beer, wine, cider, kombucha and mead. Cap the bottle as usual and screw the gauge onto the cap.
Does the Springer filter fit a standard BM50?
No. The Springer filter is made for the BM50 PLUS and does not fit the standard BM50.
